Dude, he's even got the model-dog foot-cross!

Yes, that is his tongue.  I hate when he walks around with it poking out like that, looking like a complete doofus.  But, ach, having Dane has taught me a little about parenting.  His miscreant tongue is a sort of defect in him that I nevertheless must (and do!) accept as part of his given-by-God-ness.

Ready for action!

And, ready for "action."

Okay, yes, I admit, this photo is proof that I tried to make my dog wear underwear... by...ermm, sticking two bandaids crosswise over his puppy peepee. He didn't like it so much... especially when I had to pull the tape from his fur.  But put down the phone: he still loves me and it was just for his own dignity.  ;)

Busy, busy, busy...

So busy in fact I don't even have time to explain how busy I am.  Come to think of it, I'm so busy I don't even have time to mention I'm too busy even to comment on my busyness.  In fact, when it comes right down to it, I'm SOOO busy, the only relief I have is writing about how busy I am.

Yeah, so, anyway.

What's up, E Team?  As every blogger surely must say at least once, "It's been a while."   Well, it's been a while since I posted here in Xangaland, at least.  As I hope most of you are aware, the bulk of my blogging, ahem, virility, suavity and sheer lunacy now make their escape at FideCogitActio.  I say I "hope" you know this fact mainly because, ever since switching there, I've felt shrouded in a frigid silence from almost all my usual commenters, here or there.  But please, don't be afraid, the blog is good.  The blog won't hurt you; the blog is your friend.  Come to the Blog.

Apropos, in order not to be as redundant as usual, I ask you to check out FCA for my latest doings and musings.  Here, have some linx:

On my journey of faith: http://veniaminov.blogspot.com/2005/03/arms-of-god.html

More about my journey: http://veniaminov.blogspot.com/2005/03/things-i-lack-things-god-offers_14.html

On the mercy of Christ:

On weird (= Japanese) domestic tips:
http://veniaminov.blogspot.com/2005/03/how-to-fold-shirt.html

On a good film: http://veniaminov.blogspot.com/2005/03/classic-worthy-of-name.html

On salvation: http://veniaminov.blogspot.com/2005/03/salvation-controversy-by-james-akin.html

As always, I am available (even if not always so promptly) for fielding Qs or gripes about the Catholic Church.  In fact, a little bird tells me a few zealous young UF students have meant to get in touch with me about this very issue.  If so, and if either of them is reading, my email address is either “coxson at hotmail dot com” or “elliot underscore bougis at yahoo dot de”.  My arms are as wide open as the Church’s arms are as wide open as Christ’s arms were open on the Cross.

Also, I know Leah P and RT were both shouting out for my land address, so here she be:

Elliot Bougis (白亞山)

4F-2 No. 87 Da En Street (大恩街4287)

Taichung, Taiwan (ROC) 407 (臺中, 臺灣 407)

I miss so many of you, and at times, the only thing grounding me in this foreign culture are the memories of relationships, relationships I can sometimes only relive by faith, as it were.   As impersonal as such an invitation (a plea?) is, please let me hear from you whenever you have the time and means.

Hey team...

Now that I think about it -- UNEXPECTED NEW WEIRD PROTOCOL DAY!  Henceforth, you (my reader/s) will be known as "the E Team" (and I pity da foo'!).  So, hey E Team, in case you don't follow or haven't lately followed my FCA blog, here's a brief update:

I went home to Florida at the end of January for Chinese New year vacation, saw family and some friends, got quite ill and spent four days in St. Vincent's hospital.  I got out Friday and left early Saturday morning for North Carolina to see more family and friends. //inhale// Then I and my dad continued up towards Virginia where Allison picked me up and I spent a few days at her "Auntie's" house.  (I'm pretty sure you'll get her scoop on it soon at her blog.)  We went to Ash Wednesday Mass and have begun Lent.  //inhale// After 30 or so hours of airplane/airport travel, I got back in Taichung two or three hours ago, have been unpacking and catching up with my roommate.  Now I need to shower and rest for the start of the spring semester tomorrow.  //inhale// I'm no longer very ill, but my appetite is diminished, I cannot eat spicy food (woe is I!), cannot drink much if any beer (woe is I!) and must take an ulcer medication for at least another month.  //inhale//

You can drop by FCA to see any recent pre-hopsital, pre-travel musings, or just to see my latest reading adventures.

Happy Chinese New Year (9 February) and blessed Lent (began on Ash Wednesday, 9 Feb.)!

"See" you again soon!
